Cake Cupcake Design Fairy
Good afternoon, hope all is well with you. This adorable little cupcake fairy is from Mo’s digital pencil. The challenge for this week is to use 3 punches. I thought that was gonna be hard to do, but wanted to play along. It was actually alot easier than I thought, I’ve used 4. The MS border punch, the MS large butterfly, MS small butterfly, and the MS branch punch. I used a sketch from Inspirational Card Sketches. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

The cake we are having is a butter cream guava and cheese cake. We chose not to get a fondant cake because it really has no flavoring all though the design holds much better. And we chose the guava and cheese cake because it is absolutely delicious and very different. It will be white and it will be two tiers stacked on top of each other.
I think for you first decide whether you want fondant or butter cream. As I mentioned, the fondant holds the design of the cake much better. Then schedule tastings to decide on the best flavor for you and your FI. After, you can decide on the design based on your overall look/feel of the wedding.
Good luck!

Some people have fairy cakes instead or an actual cake thats pretty cool that way you could have different colours and flavours.

My wedding cake was three tiers. All basket weave icing; not that flavorless rolled out fondant stuff. Top and bottom tiers were lemon cake with raspberry filling. The middle tier was traditional wedding cake. In between each tier was a layer of fresh white tulips. I didn’t like the empty spaces around the columns, so I asked my florist to fill them in. We had a country wedding in Spring, and it was the perfect cake!

I’m doing a 4-tier cupcake tower instead of a cake. I decided to go with that because I’ve always preferred cupcakes to cake, and I think it’s just a lot easier than having to have someone take each tier off and cut it while everyone waits for a piece. Also, it’s a lot less expensive than a traditional wedding cake and it still looks really cool. I intend to have a mixture of chocolate cupcakes and white cupcakes, so people can choose the one they like best.
I first saw a cupcake tower in Martha Stewart’s wedding magazine, and I was stunned by how elegant cupcakes can look.

Just posted about this on a question about best/worst thing you’ve seen at a wedding and I love the idea of using wine glasses with flameless votives and petals in your color inside
Here’s a not great representation of what I’m talking about:

Just imagine that instead of plain they have a glow inside, super cool

We had a dark chocolate cake with raspberry filling. Dark ganache icing with little cherry blossoms all over. This cake was straight from Martha Stewart and I loved it, so had it copied. Also we did cherry blossoms in other parts of the wedding, because my husband is Japanese.

i can’t find any pics on Google for the life of me but here goes…
Cake for 50 people, large square bottom iced and decorated with deep red ribbon, then a square vase in the middle filled with deep red gerbera’s the a smaller square on top of the vase with 2/3 deep red gerbera’s on top. The cake will be made out of chocolate sponge as majority of people i have spoken to don’t seem kean on wedding cake. The cake will be sat on deep red silk and there will be 50 mini muffins round the side some plain, some white and some with gerbera’s on to tie in and my bouquet at the side of it all.
(sorry if i spelt gerbera wrong lol)

We wanted a TASTY cake and we wanted a design that wasn’t too common.
We chose two flavors: Grand Manier for the bottom tier, with fresh berries and white ganache filling. The second tier was carrot cake with creme cheese filling.
The outside was decorated with no icing. We chose belgian chocolate cigarellos on the outside and fresh cymbidium orchids as decoration.
Everyone complimented on the original design of the cake and the great taste. We got luck and got a french baker doing our cake and evryone loved it!
Good luck

Im not married yet but I do know that we are definately having a cupcake wedding cake simply because it is much cheaper, looks modern and can be transfered easily to add to the evening buffet
they are just an arrangment of fairycakes covered in coloured icing and some people get a friend or relative to bake a small cake to place on the top tear
our colours are torquoise blue, silver and either lemon yellow or lime green, cant decide yet
look at these
