Custom Sneaker Design

Sports teams from New York and other metropolitan areas have long served as inspiration for Nike, Adidas, and everybody else in between. Given the popularity of such teams their color schemes have become some of the most well recognized color palettes and have been used to design everything from trainers to basketball sneakers to your general casual shoes. When it comes to NY teams the colorway of the Yankees and Knicks is constantly being recycled but somehow it never really seems to get old. Maybe that’s just cause I’m from NY though. I could be a little bias here.

The good ol’ Yankees, the team you love or love to hate is seen honored here in a two-pack of Air Force 1’s which continue the run of AF1’s designed by graffiti street artist Futura. For the pack Futura did up an Air Force 1 High in Dark Obsidian and an Air Force 1 Low in Black which are pretty much identical to eachother. Premium leathers and perforated leathers are used to fabricate the uppers while secondary color accents come in the form of Light Blue and White. Futura’s signature is present on the tongue tag of each shoe as well as beneath the outsoles. Since the MLB and it’s teams never like to join in with some official collaborations with footwear companies there’s no Yankees insignia on the shoes but there is however a pair of crisscrossing bats on the heel spine of the Air Force 1 Low’s which help tie them into the whole baseball/Yankees theme.

It’s unclear at this time when the sneakers will be available in the US but UK retailer END has both of the sneakers available now for pre-order and report that they’ll be ready to ship in early April. Click here to check out some additional photos of  both.
