Indesign Software Free

From photos to Pages

I recently finished painting watercolors for one picture books my children with the intention of designing the book myself. It was the goal that made me able to overcome the challenge of learning layout software InDesign Creative Suite 3 or CS 3 by Adobe.

I was comfortable using Adobe Photo Shop having made examples of pages an earlier draft picture book. In fact, I designed most of the pages, which led to the realization that I could create my books if I the right tool.

Listening to other authors and independent publishers, they seem to be divided into two groups. Those who hired someone to design and those who do it themselves.

InDesign CS 3 cost about $ 750 U.S. and came with a video workshop and once I registered the product I took the free offer for a one month trial to www.lynda.com to access the library from Adobe. I also bought 3 Adobe InDesign CS Classroom in a Book with lesson files on CD-ROM that guides you through the layout exercises. The internet was where I got the most answers to my questions by searching on Google and elsewhere. In addition, there are websites Indesign by Internet professionals and groups who have a wealth of information. For answers to questions difficult to find I went to the

www.adobe.com

. These are all essential to understanding the Indesign CS 3 software.

Once I got the hang of it, and knew where things were, including tools to use and how to use them, I could not believe how cool this software was. For example, to a page in the book, I made a frame on a first layer, using File> Import, I added images, chose the text layer, is another part and added the text. You can resize an object or an image right on the page, apply drop shadows and background images of ghosts, and add gradients which is a mixture between progressive colors. And there is another way to get pictures placed in a document which is to open Adobe Bridge which is a separate tool that comes with InDesign. In Bridge, you can find files anywhere on your hard drive by opening Bridge right inside the Indesign workspace and view content you need to put in your document, then simply drag and drop photos.

If you have basic knowledge of advanced software such as Photo Shop or Corel Painter, like to learn, and do not mind doing the research you may be able to develop picture books for your children yourself.

While you consider Does your option, you should start by reading some books on design books, especially picture book design. I found that watching books by other children's got my imagination.

Before you start the design process, you will need to decide which books will be printed you can get the printer information on what their needs are.

You'll need to know the model sizes for indoor and a book cover. There are margins, bleeds and gutter sizes to know and what parameters should be enabled or disabled to name a few.

If all this sounds like it too so do not do it. Go another way to get your book designed and printed. There are a lot of editing with good design as part of their package or you can hire a professional product designer.
